The 'curse of Strictly' is actually a blessing because it kills of troubled relationships, according to the show's judge, Craig Revel-Horwood.
The extra-marital fling between Seann Walsh and his professional partner, Katya Jones, has overshadowed the competition this week. Walsh's girlfriend promptly left him, although Jones's husband is sticking by her.
Revel-Horwood said: "I think of it as a blessing, actually, to be honest. One person is married, the other one had a girlfriend but my point in this entire thing is: if you come on Strictly, sometimes you are in a relationship that is not working anyway.
"And people, I have noticed, if they are in love or are married, end up being absolutely faithful to one another because of that love.
"You're up close and personal with that person but there has to be something wrong in your relationship before it all goes wry."
He was appearing on ITV's The Jonathan Ross Show alongside his fellow Strictly judge, Dame Darcey Bussell, who added: "I danced for over 20 years in the Royal Ballet and I'm still happily married."
